Thomas ChalmersThomas is an experienced and successful coach who specialises in one to one Executive Coaching.

He supports individuals who have strategic influence over their organisation and helps them develop their leadership capacity, communication and people skills, confidence, self-belief and resilience.

He also focuses on organisational development, helping teams to improve collaboration and communication through the identification and development of key strengths and ways of working together.

He coaches a broad portfolio of private and public sector clients across a diverse range of local, national and international organisations including:

He has also been a leader in providing coaching for a number of head teachers in the Education Sector.

In December 2006 he was invited to write a paper on Coaching & Mentoring for the 2300 strong membership of 'Heads Together' - a forum for head teachers, developed by Learning and Teaching Scotland, and now the largest and most successful online community of its type in the world.

Thomas is a Coach U Graduate, member of the International Coach Federation, Chartered Banker and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.

He founded Idealife International™ in 2002.

Thomas is a former Chapter Director of Business Network International. His experience also extends as an Executive Coach for the Scottish Leadership Foundation and the Scottish Executive Improvement Service’s Top Executive Development Programmes.

His previous careers span 10 years as a commercial banker followed by 14 years owner/partner of a multi-award winning family seafood business.

He has broadcast on radio and has been a coaching columnist with the Sunday Herald magazine. He is also a published children’s author and former writer for BBC Radio Scotland.

He has delivered a number of workshops and talks on a variety of subjects, most notably at the Edinburgh Book Festival where he participated in an event with Harry Potter author, J.K. Rowling on the subject of 'How to get published'.

Beyond work Thomas is involved with local charities. His hobbies include health & fitness, creative writing, public speaking and amateur conjuring.

He is 21 years married, with three sons who coach him daily.
